Guia is well worth a visit. It is a small and unassuming village with all amenities you require – this is perfect if you would prefer to enjoy Portugal away from the main crowds. Guia is famous for its piri piri chicken, suckling pig tavernas and many other local family restaurants. This village is popular with locals and tourists alike, it is a hive of activity, particularly in the summer months.
For those of you who enjoy shopping, there is a monthly market and various local fairs in the evening throughout the year. There is a small central car park, giving access to banks, a chemist, newsagents, supermarkets and a post office. You will also find cake shops, coffee shops and the “football” club, which is truly international and local; enjoy a wide menu from an English breakfast to a glass of local wine with octopus salad and watch the world go by! Just outside Guia you will find the largest shopping centre “Algarve Shopping” and the Retail Park, complete with Nike factory outlets and an English food outlet.
